Album update...!!!...

Hi,

It's been a few weeks now and the album is coming along nicely. We've got the foundation put together for about 4 songs now. Not sure how many in total will be on the album just yet but I'm hoping it'll be somewhere in the 40 song range. Ha!!! Just kidding. My wallet just isn't large enough for something of that magnitude.

Now I have to admit that the process is going really smoothly and the overall sound of everything has exceeded my expectations. I'm excited to see what the next few weeks brings.

One other thing. I've been introduced to a website called 'kickstarter'. It's a tool to help raise funds for certain projects. I'm not one to ask for help too often but if anyone out there was willing to donate to help push the album along it would be much appreciated. I'll post up some info once I figure everything out.

Thanks to everyone out there who enjoys the music. I can't wait to get this out to people and see what you think.

Thanks again,

It's been a long time...

Hmm.. What is up? How are you? Good. Me? Oh, well, swell I guess. It's a been a long time since I've blogged. So long actually that I forgot I had a blog. I should definitely keep up with the trend of things.

I've recently started putting together a new batch of songs for the new album. I want to start on it sooner but times they are changing. I've played some of the new stuff out and gotten great response from most of them. Some
of which I haven't played out and wanted to keep them as an album only type of setup. We shall see I guess.

As far as a theme!?! Hmm.. Life. Mainly. Love, loss, time. --Life.

I thought about certain songs not fitting into the mix and decided against them. Then went out and spoke to some people and got input on some of their favorites and what not. Nice lil brain storm of ideas. All and all, the selection is pretty set. Still on the fence of how many songs to do. That is really the burning question right now. Have to wait and see once more work is done.

Anyway, I want to keep this up. Kinda a cool way to keep myself updated as well as anyone who is out there reading this. If there is anyone, leave a comment. Visit the Facebook. Facebook.com/thelonesomepoet

See ya around.

Hello anyone who reads this,

I have officially started on the new album. It's gonna be a slow process but it should be fun. I'm looking forward to all the new songs coming together. I'm thinking this album will be a lil different than the last. I think I'm gonna try to produce the whole thing myself. Minus some mixing and mastering. I'll let the pros do that stuff. I've realized that mixing and mastering is truly an art form. So far tho, I'm off to a good start. Taking it one day at a time. So, here's hoping for the best.

I've contacted some artists to begin work on some of the cover art for the album as well. I wanted to get a better start than I did for the last album. Rather than me draw simple doodly drawings that try to resemble random things, I figured I'd let some really talented people take a crack at it. I look forward to seeing what they come up with. If they're cool with it, I'd probably add a slideshow on the website to show off their stuff. Full links and copyright added of course. I wouldn't want anyone to think I drew this stuff. I really wish I could draw.....

Anyway, if you haven't picked up the album(30 Trips Around The Sun), it's available on the website.

Morning Salute

Hello everyone..

It's a been a lil bit since I've blogged. Been a cool couple of months musically. Made a few contacts here and there. Aside from all that, I tried for a little while to get the video I made for my "Welcome Home " song out and about. My goal was to show it to the families of our troops. Here or afar. Just to get the message out there. We all think about them and wish them home.

After that, I was contacted by NBC San Diego about possible airing the video on their morning news segment called "Morning Salute". .. . . I thought this was a perfect opportunity. I agreed and thus waited. Took a couple weeks but it finally aired. Ended up being more of a salute to me for honoring them with a song. Not quite was I was going for but, very very grateful none the less. I have to admit I was honored to be apart of that. It is very cool that they take a little bit of time out of their broadcast to honor them.

So, here is the segment if you haven't seen it....

Also, if any of you are around North County next year. Come on out. Loved to see you.

Live feed...

Ok. This is pretty cool. The other day was messing around online trying to figure out ways to stream stuff online for cheap. I figured I could ultimately turn my home connection into a server and broadcast out to the world. SO, in my search I stumbled upon ustream.tv .. A cool place for live streaming of practically everything. On top of finding that, I did a little bit more research and found that ustream.tv had developed an app for a jailbroken iphone. Hmmm... I pondered. So, I did some more research and within 20 minutes had found the ustream app. Installed it and was streaming live. Now at first it was just some boring images and random tests. I figured Sunday would be the best test yet. I told a few people to check out my ustream channel and stay tuned. @ about 845pm pst. We went live from Carlsbad, Ca. We had some audio issues at first but once the connection was strong they cleared up. We were able to pull 15fps and some clear audio of me playing on stage to a big group of people. Again this was a test but it worked everywhere. Stoked..

So, to recap. I can stream a show online from my iPhone to you for FREE. OH YES!!! It may not be perfect but, every little bit helps.

I will schedule some events. But be sure to check it out most Sundays @ 8:40pm pst.

Website and other stuff...

Hello....

It's been awhile since I've posted anything "blog" related. I've recently updated the website to more of simpler setting. I was gonna attempt going into the flash realm but decided against it. People don't have the attention spans they did yesterday and um well uh... what was I saying??? Anyway, I got to hear myself on the radio. That was neat!!! KPRI's local show "Homegrown Hour" which plays local musicians every Saturday at 9pm played "Don't Talk About My Girlfriend" aka "The Zombie Song" on Halloween night. I hadn't heard it in awhile and it was thrilling hearing it with some close friends. I think I saw my Myspace numbers grow by 5 after that.. Progress? Hmmm... I don't know.

I'm gonna send the album out to some local music people for review. As well as some other places. If you'd like to write up a review of the album that gets posted on the website and places, send me your address and I'll send you a copy.

Thanks again for the support.

Don't forget to always check out the website for current shows and news.

Sales..

Hello.

I've been pretty stoked as of late. The CD is selling really well and I have been getting some good reviews. I was told that the album has been a hit for the older crowd "55+" from a friend of mine in his 60's. RAD!! It's nice to know that people are liking it in all age groups.

I've got ideas for the next album but I'm gonna wait for awhile before I put too much effort into that. I really want to get this latest album out there more and focus on playing out. I feel I need to get together with some people and play some "full band" gigs. SO, if you know anyone who might be interested in playing some chill music, let me know. That would be awesome!!!

Hope all is well.

Talk to ya soon.
